The Editor

Type or paste the text you would like to go onto the page into the editor.

Use the editor tools to enhance your page content.


Use this if you want to edit the html of the page. You may need to use it if unwanted HTML has copied across from a source document.


After pasting in content, select it all, and then click on this tool. This will strip out all HTML allowing you to cleanly format the page content.  N.B. One thing to bear in mind here, is that if you use this tool it will remove all HTML element including things like links.


Use the items in this drop down to quickly format titles or sub titles.


Use this to make text bold. Select the text that you want bold and then click on this tool.

 
Use this to italicise your text


You can create a bulleted list by using this tool. Just select the text and click the button and it will create you bulleted list. You can keep adding points to this list. To Remove the list, select the list in the editor and click the button to de-select.


This tool will create a numbered list for you. Just select the text and click the button and it will create you bulleted list. You can keep adding points to this list.  To Remove the list, select the list in the editor and click the button to de-select.


You can decrease the indent on the text by using this tool.


You can indent your text by using this tool.  Simply select the portion of text you want to indent and then click on the button. If you keep clicking it will add in further indents.  To remove or step back use the Decrease Indent tool.


If you want to put a link on some text e.g. to link to another page, or to a document, then use this tool. When you click on this tool it will open up the following screen.

To link to another website copy and paste the url into Link to document and click Select

e.g. http://www.bbc.co.uk

To link to a page within your website click on the page you want it to go and then click Select.

Ensure that you see the blue tick. That means the correct page has been selected. Then click Select

If you want to link to a document then click the Link to file button, which will open the media folder and then navigate to the file you want to link to. You can also upload the file at this point.


To remove a link select the text that has the link applied to it and then click this button.


You can insert and image into the page content by clicking on this button. It will open up the media folder. You can either navigate to the image you want to insert or upload it if you haven’t already done that.  See Adding Images for details on how to do this. Once the image is in the editor you can re-size it by grabbing the corner point, holding down the shift key, and dragging it to the required size.

It’s unlikely that you will use this tool. It’s for inserting items such as a Sign Up form to the page.

Use this tool to insert a video file into the editor. Simply paste the page url into the Url field and click Retrieve.

The video will then appear in the window as below.

You can resize the video by entering new dimensions into the size fields. 


This feature will add a horizontal line into the editor. Great for separating text.
